but later came close to each other again. The same
question came from the lips of the drowning preacher,
“Are you saved?” Again the other man had to answer
honestly, “No.” The message from the Bible was repeated,
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”
His last convert
In a few moments the noble preacher slipped under the
cold waters for the last time and immediately his soul
went to be with Christ. John Harper was in Heaven.
Meanwhile somewhere on those same chilly waves his
last contact became his last convert, for the stranger did
indeed put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour
and his soul was saved. Some time later he was rescued

Are you saved?
This simple searching question is really the bottom line of
all gospel preaching. It needs to be addressed by every
soul on earth. It must be answered individually and your
answer reveals where your soul will dwell after life on
earth is over. The Bible teaches that each of us is a soul
travelling to Eternity. God created man in his own image
and each one is a living soul (Genesis 2 v 7). Not only is
each a living soul that will never cease to exist, each is a
