sinned.” (Romans 5 v 12). The Lord Jesus Christ taught
that in order to be in Heaven an individual must be saved
or born again. “Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God.” (John 3 v 3). In Acts 4 v 12 the
Apostle Peter declares “We must be saved.”
How you can be saved
Like the drowning passengers on Titanic none of us can
save our own soul but the good news is that God has
provided salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. The
Apostle Paul announces the news in 1 Timothy 1 v 15
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” The
death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary
was planned by God so that sinners could be saved. “For
when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died
for the ungodly.” (Romans 5 v 6). The 705 passengers
of Titanic who survived had to put their trust in the life
boats provided. All who wish to be saved from perishing
eternally in Hell and the Lake of Fire must put their trust
as lost sinners in the Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose
again for our sins (1 Corinthians 15 v 3 – 4).
As we all journey to Eternity, what is your answer to John
Harper’s last question? Are you saved? “Believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16 v 31)
